Cunningham Summary

Cunningham is a small city located in Kingman County, Kansas. It is situated in the south-central part of the state, approximately 30 miles northwest of Wichita. The city has a population of 1,093, according to the 2010 census.

History

Cunningham was founded in 1887 by the Santa Fe Railroad. The city was named after a railroad official, William Cunningham. The first post office was established in 1887. The city was incorporated in 1891.

Geography

Cunningham is located at 37°37'45" North, 98°2'45" West (37.629, -98.046). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Cunningham is a small, rural community with a limited economy. The city is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a few other small shops.
