Ridgeville is a small town located in Randolph County, Indiana, United States. It is situated along the White River, approximately 20 miles northeast of Muncie. The population was 1,093 at the 2010 census.
History
Ridgeville was founded in 1837 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was named after the ridge that runs through the area. The first post office was established in 1838. The town was incorporated in 1867.
Ridgeville was a major stop on the Whitewater Canal, which was built in the early 1800s to connect the Wabash and Erie Canal to the Ohio River. The canal was used to transport goods and passengers between the two rivers. The canal was abandoned in the late 1800s, but the town still retains its historic charm.

Ridgeville is located at 40°25'25" North, 85°14'45" West (40.423, -85.246). According to the 2010 census, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all land.

The racial makeup of the town was 97.2% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.9% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
There were 441 households, out of which 32.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 28.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 15.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
