West College Corner Summary

West College Corner is a small town located in Union County, Indiana, United States. The town is situated on the border of Indiana and Ohio, and is the only town in the United States that is located in two states. The population of West College Corner was 545 at the 2010 census.

History

West College Corner was founded in 1845 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was originally known as College Corner, and was named after the nearby Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The town was later renamed West College Corner to distinguish it from the nearby town of College Corner, Ohio.
The town was originally a farming community, but in the late 19th century, it became a popular stop for travelers on the Cincinnati-Indianapolis railway. The town was also home to a number of small businesses, including a hotel, a general store, and a post office.
In the early 20th century, West College Corner experienced a period of growth and development. The town was home to a number of factories, including a furniture factory, a canning factory, and a brickyard. The town also had a number of churches, schools, and other businesses.

Geography

West College Corner is located at 39°30'25" North, 84°51'45" West (39.506944, -84.862500). The town is situated on the border of Indiana and Ohio, and is the only town in the United States that is located in two states.
The town is located in the western part of Union County, Indiana, and is bordered by the towns of Liberty, College Corner, and Oxford. The town is located approximately 25 miles west of the city of Richmond, Indiana, and approximately 40 miles east of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio.
