Sweetser Summary

Sweetser is a small town located in Grant County, Indiana. It is situated in the eastern part of the state, about 30 miles northeast of Indianapolis. The town was founded in 1837 and has a population of approximately 1,500 people.

History

Sweetser was founded in 1837 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was named after a local family, the Sweetsers, who had settled in the area in the early 1800s. The town was originally a farming community, but in the late 1800s, the railroad came through and the town began to grow. The railroad brought new businesses and industries to the area, and the town began to thrive.
In the early 1900s, Sweetser was a bustling small town with a variety of businesses and industries. The town had a bank, a hotel, a movie theater, a grocery store, a hardware store, and several other businesses. The town also had a school, a post office, and a library.
