Francesville Summary

Francesville is a small town located in Pulaski County, Indiana, United States. It is situated in the northwest corner of the state, approximately 40 miles south of South Bend and 40 miles north of Lafayette. The population was 1,092 at the 2010 census.

History

The town of Francesville was founded in 1837 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was named after Frances, the daughter of one of the settlers. The town was incorporated in 1867.
In the late 19th century, Francesville was a thriving agricultural community. The town was home to several grain elevators, a flour mill, a sawmill, and a brickyard. The town also had a railroad station, which connected it to the rest of the state.
