History

Daleville was founded in 1837 by William Dale, a Quaker from North Carolina. The town was originally called Daleville, but was later changed to Daleville. The town was incorporated in 1867.
Daleville was a major stop on the Indianapolis and Cincinnati Railroad, which ran through the town from 1853 to 1871. The railroad brought many new settlers to the area, and Daleville quickly grew into a thriving community.
In the late 19th century, Daleville was home to several factories, including a flour mill, a sawmill, a brickyard, and a furniture factory. The town also had a bank, a hotel, and several stores.
