History
Bunker Hill was founded in 1837 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was named after the Battle of Bunker Hill, which took place during the American Revolutionary War. The town was originally a farming community, but in the late 19th century, it became a center for the production of bricks and tile.
In the early 20th century, Bunker Hill was a popular tourist destination, with many visitors coming to enjoy the town's natural beauty. The town was also home to a number of resorts, including the Bunker Hill Hotel, which was built in the late 1800s.

The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 3.03.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 25.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.2 males.
