Valley Head Summary

Valley Head is a small town located in DeKalb County, Alabama, United States. It is situated in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, and is part of the Lookout Mountain region. The town was founded in 1887 and has a population of approximately 1,000 people.

History

Valley Head was founded in 1887 by a group of settlers from Georgia. The town was named after the nearby Valley Head Creek, which was named for its location at the head of a valley. The town was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were corn, cotton, and tobacco.
