Frisco City Summary

Frisco City is a small town located in Monroe County, Alabama. It is situated on the banks of the Tombigbee River, approximately 20 miles north of Monroeville, the county seat. The town was founded in 1819 and named after the Frisco Railroad, which ran through the area. The population of Frisco City was 1,072 in the 2010 census.

Geography

Frisco City is located at 31°17'25" North, 87°30'45" West (31.290278, -87.5125). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all land.
The town is located in the Tombigbee River Valley, which is part of the Black Belt region of Alabama. The area is characterized by rolling hills and fertile soil. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild winters.
