Woodville Summary

Woodville, Wisconsin is a small village located in St. Croix County, Wisconsin. It is situated on the banks of the St. Croix River, which forms the border between Wisconsin and Minnesota. The village has a population of 1,092 as of the 2010 census.

History

Woodville was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from New York. The village was named after the nearby woods, which were abundant in the area. The first settlers were mostly farmers, and the village quickly grew to become a thriving agricultural community.
In 1856, the first post office was established in Woodville. The village was incorporated in 1872, and the first mayor was elected in 1873.
