History

Solon Springs was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from Solon, Ohio. The town was named after the Ohio town, and the springs in the area were named after the town. The first post office was established in 1884.
The town was originally a logging and farming community, and the first sawmill was built in 1885. The town was incorporated in 1901.
