Nashotah Summary

Nashotah is a village located in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area.

History

Nashotah was first settled in 1842 by a group of settlers from New York. The village was named after the nearby Nashotah House, a seminary of the Episcopal Church. The village was incorporated in 1892.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.4 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Nashotah is home to several businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a bank, a gas station, and a few restaurants. The village also has a post office and a library.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,845 people, 690 households, and 517 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,072.2 people per square mile (414.3/km2). There were 717 housing units at an average density of 418.3 per square mile (161.2/km2).
