Lannon Summary

Lannon is a village located in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,717 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area.

History

The area that is now Lannon was first settled in the 1840s by German immigrants. The village was originally known as "Lannon's Station" after the first postmaster, John Lannon. The village was officially incorporated in 1892.

Geography

Lannon is located at 43 10 17 North 88 7 17 West 43 1714 88 1214

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), all of it land.

Economy

The economy of Lannon is largely based on manufacturing and retail. The village is home to several manufacturing companies, including Lannon Stone Products, a manufacturer of stone products for landscaping and construction, and Lannon Plastics, a manufacturer of plastic products.
The village also has several retail stores, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a variety of specialty shops.

Demographics

As of the census of 2010, there were 2,717 people, 1,072 households, and 745 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,093.8 people per square mile (808.3/km2). There were 1,098 housing units at an average density of 845.4 per square mile (326.2/km2).
