Doylestown Summary

Doylestown is a village located in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area.

History

Doylestown was founded in 1842 by William Doyle, who was the first settler in the area. He built a log cabin and began farming the land. The village was originally known as Doyle's Town, but the name was changed to Doylestown in 1845.
The village was incorporated in 1892 and has since grown to become a thriving community. The village is home to several businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a bank, and a post office.

Doylestown is located at 43°7′17″N 88°14′17″W (43.1214, -88.2379). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
There were 717 households, out of which 33.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.2% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.7% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 3.14.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
