Curtiss Summary

Curtiss is a village located in Clark County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 545 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wausau, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Curtiss was founded in 1883 by William Curtiss, a lumberman from Maine. He purchased a large tract of land in the area and began to develop it into a village. The village was incorporated in 1891.
The village was named after William Curtiss, who was the first postmaster of the village. The village was originally known as Curtissville, but the name was changed to Curtiss in 1895.
