Big Bend Summary

Big Bend is a village located in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,945 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area.

History

Big Bend was first settled in 1836 by a group of settlers from New York. The village was originally known as "Big Bend Corners" due to its location at the intersection of two roads. The village was officially incorporated in 1892.

Geography

Big Bend is located at 43°7′17″N 88°14′17″W (43.121400, -88.238100). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Big Bend is home to several businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a bank, and several restaurants. The village is also home to a number of manufacturing companies, including a plastics manufacturer, a metal fabricator, and a printing company.
