Wakita is located at 36°45'25"N 97°45'45"W (36.7569, -97.7625). It is situated in the northwest corner of Oklahoma, approximately 20 miles south of the Kansas border. The town is located in the Red Bed Plains region of the state, which is characterized by flat terrain and red-colored soil. The nearest major city is Enid, which is located approximately 40 miles to the southeast.
