History

Tuttle was founded in 1892 by the Tuttle family, who had moved to the area from Missouri. The town was named after the family, and the post office was established in 1893. The town was incorporated in 1901.
Tuttle was a farming community until the 1950s, when the oil and gas industry began to move into the area. The town experienced a population boom in the 1960s and 1970s, as people moved to the area to take advantage of the new job opportunities.

Geography

Tuttle is located at 35°17'25" North, 97°51'17" West (35.290278, -97.854722). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.2 square miles (13.4 km2), all land.

Tuttle's economy is largely based on the oil and gas industry. The city is home to several oil and gas companies, including Chesapeake Energy, Devon Energy, and SandRidge Energy. The city also has a strong agricultural sector, with several farms located in the area.
