Tribbey Summary

Tribbey is a small town located in the state of Oklahoma, in the United States. It is situated in the southwestern part of the state, in the county of Grady. The town has a population of approximately 1,000 people, and is located about 25 miles south of Oklahoma City.

History

Tribbey was founded in 1891 by a group of settlers from the Choctaw Nation. The town was named after the Choctaw chief, Tribbey, who had been a leader in the area. The town was originally a farming community, and the settlers grew cotton, corn, and other crops. The town was also home to a number of businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith, and a post office.
In the early 1900s, Tribbey began to experience a period of growth. The town was connected to the railroad, and the population began to increase. The town also became a center for oil production, and the population continued to grow. By the mid-1900s, Tribbey had become a thriving community, with a population of over 1,000 people.
