Geography
Dacoma is located at 36°51'25"N, 98°45'45"W (36.857, -98.7625). It is situated in the northwest corner of Oklahoma, approximately 20 miles south of the Kansas border. The town is located in the Red Bed Plains region of the state, which is characterized by rolling hills and flat plains. The elevation of Dacoma is 1,092 feet above sea level.
The town is located in the Central Great Plains ecoregion, which is characterized by grasslands and prairies. The climate of the region is semi-arid, with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual precipitation is approximately 25 inches.
Demographics
As of the 2010 census, the population of Dacoma was 545. The racial makeup of the town was 95.2% White, 0.2% African American, 0.7% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 3.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
