Mcclusky Summary

Mcclusky is a small city located in the northwest corner of North Dakota, in the United States. It is the county seat of Sheridan County and is situated on the banks of the Tongue River. The city has a population of approximately 1,000 people and is the smallest incorporated city in the state.

History

Mcclusky was founded in 1883 by the Northern Pacific Railroad. The city was named after the railroad's chief engineer, William Mcclusky. The city was incorporated in 1887 and was the first city in Sheridan County.
The city was a major hub for the railroad and was the site of a large roundhouse and repair shop. The railroad also built a large grain elevator in the city. The city was also home to a number of businesses, including a hotel, a bank, a lumberyard, and a number of stores.
In the early 1900s, the city was a major center for the cattle industry. The city was home to several large ranches and was a major shipping point for cattle. The city also had a large stockyard and a number of meatpacking plants.
The city was also home to a number of churches, including the First Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1887. The city also had a number of schools, including a high school, which was established in 1910.
