Chrisney is located at 38°10'25" North, 87°17'45" West (38.173611, -87.295833). According to the 2010 census, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all land.

History

Chrisney was founded in 1837 by William Chrisney, a German immigrant. The town was originally known as Chrisney's Station, and was a stop on the Evansville and Crawfordsville Railroad. The town was officially incorporated in 1867.
In the late 19th century, Chrisney was a thriving agricultural community. The town was home to several businesses, including a flour mill, a sawmill, a blacksmith shop, and a general store.
