Borden is a small town located in Clark County, Indiana. It is situated on the banks of the Ohio River, about 25 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky. The town was founded in 1817 and named after the first settler, William Borden. The population of Borden was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Borden is located at 38°25'25"N 85°45'45"W (38.423, -85.7625). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Borden is a small town with a limited economy. The town is home to a few small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants. The town also has a few manufacturing plants, including a plastics plant and a paper mill. The town is also home to a few small farms.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, there were 1,093 people, 441 households, and 294 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,541.4 people per square mile (595.2/km2). There were 471 housing units at an average density of 667.1 per square mile (257.7/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.3% White, 0.7% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.7% of the population.
