Winfield, Alabama is a small town located in Marion County, Alabama. It is situated in the northwest corner of the state, approximately 30 miles south of the Tennessee border. The town was founded in 1883 and was named after a local landowner, William Winfield. As of the 2010 census, the population of Winfield was 2,731.

Geography

Winfield is located at 34°21'25"N 87°45'45"W (34.356944, -87.762500). It is situated in the northwest corner of Marion County, approximately 30 miles south of the Tennessee border. The town is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and is surrounded by rolling hills and forests. The town is situated on the banks of the Bear Creek, a tributary of the Tennessee River.
The climate in Winfield is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The average annual temperature is 64°F (18°C). The average annual precipitation is 52 inches (132 cm).

Economy
