Brookside Summary

Brookside is a small town located in Jefferson County, Alabama. It is situated in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, approximately 20 miles northeast of Birmingham. The town was founded in 1887 and has a population of approximately 1,500 people.

History

The town of Brookside was founded in 1887 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Blountsville. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The town was named after the nearby brook, which was a source of water for the settlers. The town was incorporated in 1891 and the first mayor was elected in 1892.
The town grew slowly but steadily over the years, and by the early 1900s, it had become a thriving community. The town was home to several businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, a sawmill, and a gristmill. The town also had a school, a post office, and a church.
In the 1920s, the town began to experience a period of growth and prosperity. The population increased from around 500 to over 1,000 people. The town was home to several businesses, including a bank, a movie theater, and a hotel.
