Ecru Summary

Ecru, Mississippi is a small town located in Pontotoc County in the northeastern part of the state. It is situated along the banks of the Tombigbee River, about 20 miles south of Tupelo. The town was founded in 1837 and named after the nearby Ecru Creek. It is a rural community with a population of 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

Geography

Ecru is located at 34°14'25"N 88°37'45"W. It is situated in the hills of the Appalachian Mountains, and is surrounded by rolling hills and forests. The town is located on the banks of the Tombigbee River, which is a major tributary of the Mississippi River. The town is located about 20 miles south of Tupelo, the county seat of Pontotoc County.
