Como Summary

Como is a small town located in Panola County, Mississippi. It is situated in the northwest corner of the state, approximately 70 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee. The town was founded in 1871 and is named after the Italian city of Como. The population of Como was 1,845 in the 2010 census.

Como was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Tennessee. The town was named after the Italian city of Como, which was the hometown of one of the settlers. The town was originally a farming community, but it soon developed into a small industrial center. The first industry in Como was a cotton gin, which was built in 1872. The town also had a sawmill, a gristmill, and a brickyard.
