Pierce Summary

Pierce is a small town located in Weld County, Colorado, United States. It is situated in the northeastern corner of the state, approximately 25 miles east of Greeley and 40 miles northeast of Denver. The town was founded in 1887 and has a population of approximately 1,000 people.

History

Pierce was founded in 1887 by a group of settlers from Nebraska. The town was named after a local rancher, William Pierce, who had a large ranch in the area. The town was originally a farming and ranching community, but in the early 1900s, the town began to grow as a result of the oil and gas industry. The town was incorporated in 1909 and the first mayor was elected in 1910.
In the early 1900s, Pierce was a bustling town with a variety of businesses, including a bank, a hotel, a movie theater, and several stores. The town also had a school, a post office, and a library. The town was also home to a number of churches, including the First Baptist Church, the Methodist Church, and the Catholic Church.

Geography

Pierce is located in the northeastern corner of Weld County, Colorado, approximately 25 miles east of Greeley and 40 miles northeast of Denver.
