Cumberland Center is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 8.3 square miles (21.5 km2), of which 8.2 square miles (21.3 km2) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.2 km2) (1.17%) is water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there were 2,845 people, 1,093 households, and 817 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 346.7 people per square mile (133.8/km2). There were 1,145 housing units at an average density of 140.2/sq mi (54.1/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.90% White, 0.21% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.53% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 1.04% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.53% of the population.
There were 1,093 households, out of which 33.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% were non-families. 20.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.01.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 25.2% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
