History

Shannon Hills was founded in the late 1800s by a man named William Shannon. He purchased the land from the local Native American tribes and began to develop the area. The city was officially incorporated in 1965.
The city was named after William Shannon, who was a prominent local businessman and politician. He served as a state senator from 1876 to 1878 and was a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1878 to 1880.
