Reyno Summary

Reyno is a small town located in Randolph County, Arkansas. It is situated in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, about 20 miles south of Pocahontas. The town was founded in 1883 and was named after the nearby Reyno Creek. The population of Reyno was 545 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Reyno is located at 36°17'25" North, 90°51'45" West (36.290278, -90.862500). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all land.
The town is located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, about 20 miles south of Pocahontas. The town is surrounded by rolling hills and wooded areas. The nearest major city is Jonesboro, which is about 40 miles to the east.

Economy

The economy of Reyno is largely based on agriculture. The town is home to several farms, which produce a variety of crops, including corn, soybeans, and cotton. The town also has a few small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, there were 545 people, 215 households, and 145 families residing in the town. The population density was 776.4 people per square mile (299.9/km2). There were 241 housing units at an average density of 343.3 per square mile (132.5/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 97.3% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.
There were 215 households, out of which 28.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.2% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.5% were non-families. 29.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.13.
