Hampton Summary

Hampton, Arkansas is a small town located in Calhoun County in the southeastern corner of the state. It is situated on the banks of the Ouachita River, and is part of the Pine Bluff Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town has a population of 1,845 people, according to the 2010 census.

History

Hampton was founded in 1883 by the Hampton family, who had moved to the area from Tennessee. The town was originally known as Hamptonville, and was named after the family.
