Gurdon Summary

Gurdon, Arkansas is a small city located in Clark County in the southwestern part of the state. It is situated on the Ouachita River and is the county seat of Clark County. The city has a population of 2,541 as of the 2010 census.
Gurdon was founded in 1873 by the St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway. The city was named after railroad official William Gurdon, who was the president of the railroad at the time. The city was incorporated in 1883 and has since grown to become the largest city in Clark County.
