Eudora Summary

Eudora is a city located in Chicot County, Arkansas. It is situated on the banks of the Mississippi River, approximately 20 miles south of Lake Village. The city was founded in 1859 and incorporated in 1883. As of the 2010 census, the population of Eudora was 1,945.

Geography

Eudora is located at 33°30'N 91°17'W (33.500, -91.283). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), all land.
The city is located in the Mississippi Delta region of Arkansas, and is part of the Arkansas Delta. The area is characterized by flat, fertile farmland, and is known for its cotton production.

Economy

Eudora is a small, rural community with a primarily agricultural economy. The city is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants. The city is also home to a number of small manufacturing companies, including a furniture factory and a woodworking shop.
The city is served by the Eudora School District, which includes two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. The district also operates a vocational-technical school.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, there were 1,945 people, 745 households, and 486 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,478.5 people per square mile (571.3/km2). There were 845 housing units at an average density of 645.4 per square mile (249.3/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 57.2% White, 40.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.7% from other races, and 1.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.7% of the population.
