Coal Hill is a small town located in Johnson County, Arkansas. It is situated in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, approximately 20 miles east of Clarksville and 30 miles west of Russellville. Coal Hill is located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, at an elevation of 845 feet. The town is situated on the western edge of Johnson County, near the Arkansas-Oklahoma border. The town is surrounded by rolling hills and wooded areas, with the closest major city being Clarksville, located 20 miles to the west. The climate in Coal Hill is humid subtropical, with hot summers and mild winters.

The economy of Coal Hill is largely based on agriculture and forestry. The town is home to several farms and ranches, as well as a sawmill and a lumber yard. The town also has a few small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a few restaurants.
