Tryon Summary
History
Tryon is a small town located in the northeastern corner of Nebraska, in the United States. It is situated in the Sandhills region of the state, and is part of Holt County. The town was founded in 1887, when the Union Pacific Railroad was extended to the area. The town was named after a railroad official, William Tryon.
The town was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were wheat, corn, and hay. The town also had a few small businesses, such as a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a hotel.
In the early 1900s, the town began to grow and prosper. The population increased, and more businesses opened. The town also had a school, a bank, and a post office.
In the 1920s, the town experienced a boom in population and businesses. The population increased to over 500 people, and the town had a variety of businesses, including a movie theater, a hardware store, and a grocery store.
In the 1940s, the town experienced a decline in population and businesses. The population decreased to around 300 people, and many of the businesses closed.
