Osceola Summary

Osceola is a small town located in Polk County, Nebraska, United States. It is situated on the banks of the Platte River, approximately 20 miles south of the state capital of Lincoln. The population of Osceola was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

History

Osceola was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Osceola, Iowa. The town was named after the Seminole leader Osceola, who fought against the United States in the Second Seminole War. The town was incorporated in 1873 and was the first town in Polk County.
