Merna Summary

Merna is a small village located in Custer County, Nebraska. It is situated in the Sandhills region of the state, and is home to a population of just over 200 people. The village is located on the banks of the North Loup River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and grasslands.

History

Merna was founded in 1887 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Broken Bow. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and start a new life, and they chose the area around the North Loup River. The village was named after Merna, the daughter of one of the settlers.
