Hooper Summary

Hooper, Nebraska is a small town located in Dodge County, Nebraska. It is situated on the banks of the Elkhorn River, about 20 miles northwest of Omaha. The town was founded in 1871 and was named after the first settler, William Hooper. The population of Hooper was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Hooper is located at 41°19'25" North, 96°37'45" West (41.323, -96.629). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Hooper is a small rural community with a strong agricultural base. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a bank, and a few restaurants. The town also has a post office, a library, and a fire station.
The town is also home to a number of manufacturing companies, including a plastics manufacturer, a metal fabricator, and a machine shop. The town is also home to a number of farms, including a dairy farm, a hog farm, and a grain farm.
