Elmwood Summary

Elmwood is a small village located in Cass County, Nebraska, United States. It is situated on the banks of the Platte River, approximately 20 miles south of Omaha. The population of Elmwood was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

History

Elmwood was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was named after the elm trees that grew along the banks of the Platte River. The first post office was established in 1872.
