Duncan Summary

Duncan is a small town located in the state of Nebraska, in the United States. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the state, in the county of Cuming. The town has a population of approximately 500 people, and is located about 30 miles from Omaha.

History

The town of Duncan was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Scotland. The settlers named the town after their hometown of Duncan, Scotland. The town was originally a farming community, and the settlers grew wheat, corn, and other crops. The town was also home to a number of businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith, and a hotel.
In the late 19th century, the town began to grow and develop. The railroad arrived in 1887, and the town was incorporated in 1889. The town continued to grow and develop, and by the early 20th century, it had become a thriving community.

Geography

Duncan is located in the southeastern corner of Nebraska, in Cuming County. The town is situated on the banks of the Elkhorn River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. The town is located about 30 miles from Omaha, and is accessible by both highway and rail.
