Clearwater Summary

Clearwater is a small village located in the state of Nebraska, in the United States. It is situated in the northeastern corner of the state, in the county of Nance. The village is located on the banks of the Elkhorn River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. The population of Clearwater was estimated to be around 500 people in 2020.

History

Clearwater was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Germany. The settlers were attracted to the area due to its fertile soil and abundant water supply. The village was named after the nearby Clearwater Creek, which was named by the settlers for its clear, clean water.
The village grew slowly over the years, and by the early 1900s, it had become a thriving agricultural community. The village was home to several businesses, including a general store, a blacksmith shop, a post office, and a school.
In the late 1950s, Clearwater began to experience a decline in population as many of its residents moved away in search of better economic opportunities. The village was eventually incorporated in 1962, and the population has remained relatively stable since then.
