History
Beaver Crossing was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The village was named after a nearby creek, which was named for the beaver dams that were found along its banks.
The village was incorporated in 1887 and has remained a small rural community ever since

Beaver Crossing is a small, rural community with a primarily agricultural economy. The village is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a gas station.
The village is also home to a number of farms which produce corn soybeans and other crops
Demographics
As of the census of 2010, there were 545 people, 212 households, and 149 families residing in the village. The population density was 890.0 people per square mile (344.3/km2). There were 229 housing units at an average density of 376.7 per square mile (145.3/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.3% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
There were 212 households, out of which 33.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.5% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% were non-families. 27.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.13.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 27.2% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 15.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males.
