Englewood is a small borough located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the southwestern corner of the county, approximately 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. History
Englewood was first settled in the late 1700s by German immigrants. The area was originally known as “Engle’s Woods” after the family who owned the land. In 1872, the area was incorporated as the borough of Englewood. The borough was named after the Engle family, who were prominent in the area.
The borough was primarily a farming community until the early 1900s, when the area began to experience rapid growth. This growth was due to the development of the trolley system, which connected Englewood to Pittsburgh. The trolley system allowed for easy access to the city, and many people moved to Englewood to take advantage of the convenient transportation.
The borough continued to grow throughout the 20th century, and by the 1950s, Englewood had become a thriving suburban community. The population peaked in 1960, when it reached 4,845. Since then, the population has slowly declined, and as of the 2010 census, it was 2,945.

Englewood is located in southwestern Allegheny County, approximately 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. The borough is bordered by the boroughs of Dormont and Mt. Lebanon, and the townships of Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park.
The borough is situated on a plateau, with an elevation of 1,000 feet above sea level. The terrain is mostly flat, with some rolling hills. The borough is located in the Allegheny Plateau region of Pennsylvania.
