Six Mile is a small town located in Pickens County, South Carolina. It is situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, approximately 30 miles west of Greenville. The town was founded in 1820 and is named after the six-mile distance between it and the nearest post office. The population of Six Mile was 1,845 at the 2000 census.

Six Mile is located at 34°45'25" North, 82°51'45" West (34.756944, -82.862500). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), all of it land.
Economy
Six Mile is a small rural town with a limited economy. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a gas station, and a few restaurants. The town also has a few manufacturing plants, including a furniture factory and a textile mill.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,845 people, 745 households, and 517 families residing in the town. The population density was 837.2 people per square mile (323.7/km2).
