Waite Hill Summary
Waite Hill is a village located in Lake County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Elyria–Mentor Metropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Waite Hill was founded in 1818 by John Waite, a Revolutionary War veteran. Waite purchased the land from the Connecticut Land Company and named the area after himself. The village was incorporated in 1874.

Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,845 people, 690 households, and 545 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,541.2 people per square mile (594.3/km2). There were 717 housing units at an average density of 597.2 per square mile (230.7/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.45% White, 0.76% African American, 0.05% Native American, 0.76% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.27% from other races, and 0.66% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.76% of the population.
There were 690 households, out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.3% were married couples living together, 6.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.2% were non-families. 19.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 25.2% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 27.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $76,944, and the median income for a family was $83,958. Males had a median income of $60,000 versus $37,500 for females. The per capita income for the village was $32,945.
