Kearny County is located in the western part of the state of Kansas, in the High Plains region of the Great Plains. It is bordered by Finney County to the north, Hamilton County to the east, Grant County to the south, and Haskell County to the west. The county seat is Lakin, and the largest city is Deerfield.
