History
Hillside was first settled in 1834 by a group of German immigrants. The village was originally known as Hill's Side, named after the hillside terrain of the area. The village was incorporated in 1941.

Hillside is located at 41°51'17" North, 87°54'45" West (41.854722, -87.9125). According to the 2010 census, Hillside has a total area of 2.3 square miles, all land.
Economy
