History
Hamilton County was formed in 1823 from parts of Marion and Madison counties. It was named after Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of the Treasury. The county seat is Noblesville, which was founded in 1823.
The first settlers in the area were Quakers, who arrived in the early 1800s. They were followed by German immigrants in the 1840s. The county was largely agricultural until the late 19th century, when the railroad arrived and industry began to develop.

Hamilton County is located in the central part of Indiana, just north of Indianapolis. It is bordered by Marion, Boone, Madison, Hancock, and Tipton counties. The county covers an area of 441 square miles and is home to a population of over 300,000 people.
